The 411 by Perreault The 411 by Perreault
The 411

Hello all. To celebrate my fandom as a major Bruce Springsteen fan and a Sonic Underground fan, I'm making parody album covers of Sonic Underground albums based on Bruce Springsteen's albums. I've wanted to do this for a while. Sure I did a parody of "Born To Run" a long time ago, but I want to use my NEW and IMPROVED style to draw the albums right. So, finally, I got off my lazy butt and decided to do the album-parodies I've always wanted to do. I may even do the backs of them when I get the time, including the songs... that would seem cool, eh?

Also, notice their names... Sonic (5 letters) Underground (11 letters) ... Bruce (5 letters) Springsteen (11 letters) and, believe me, I can easily see Sonic as Bruce Springsteen himself... can you? Be honest!

This is the fifth album. This one is based off of Bruce Springsteen's "The River" album. This album, which was released in 1980, rose to the number one spot in the charts and stayed there for four weeks! It's also a double-record album, meaning there are two discs.

For Sonic Underground, I was trying to find a song that only had two words. I found "Never Easy" ... but I personally hate that song... AND the episode "Sonia's Choice" is my least favorite episode of the entire series. Then I found a song called "Have you got the 411?" from the episode "To Catch a Queen" so I decided to shorten it down to just plain "The 411" and made this album.

No text here. The drawing of Sonic AND the words are all hand-written. Mainly because on Bruce's album, it looks like it's written in paint brush-strokes, so I made it like that.

Well, enjoy "The 411"

There are two types of songs on "The River". The first type continues the themes of "Darkness of the Edge of Town". The second is comprised of lighthearted Pop/Rock where "Because the Night" and "Fire" could have gone. As great as this album is, Springsteen should have made put the dark songs on one disc, and the fun songs on the other. Here, it's just thrown into the blender.

P.S. At least part of the whole "four weeks at #1" thing is due to the fact that the RIAA counts each disc as one sale, so the inflated numbers may have kept "The River" at #1 longer than it should have been.

Meant to comment on this yesterday, now I shall do it today! xD

Anyways, all of your album covers are coming out great so far! I compare it to the real album and you really do make them look similar, which is great! ^^
